Short, Simple, Clear Car Leasing
A track day allows a person to use their own car to enjoy the thrill of driving on a track, normally for a full day or in the evening.
Track days in the UK are very popular and quite often purchased online as a gift for a loved one who’s known in his or her circle of friends and family as a bit of a petrol head.
You aren’t required to have any racing experience behind you but you must hold a full valid UK driving licence or a race licence.
In the UK we have a fine selection of race tracks to choose from including Donington Park, Oulton Park, Rockingham and Silverstone, with track days ranging in price. For around £100 you can experience a fun and thrilling day on a track in your own car which you can share with a friend or family member for an additional cost.
But what if I lease a car, can I use it to experience a track day?
The short answer is NO and there are a couple of reasons why this isn’t allowed with a lease car.
Firstly, you would not be covered on your insurance policy for using your lease car on a track day and secondly, using a lease car to fly around a track for a day would put significantly extra wear and tear on your lease car.
In the past, it’s been discovered that some lessee’s have ignored the fact that their lease car can’t be used for a track day and have been caught doing exactly that, so to avoid the embarrassment of being ‘found out’, it’s advisable that you don’t use your lease car for a track day as it isn’t allowed.
