Having a full valid UK driving licence and the right documents is essential
When you lease a car there’s a procedure we have to follow to make sure all of our customers are able to sign the lease and be accepted for one of our brand new cars.
Firstly, you must be over 18 years of age and hold a full valid UK driving licence. If you’re young and don’t currently have a credit history for us to check we advise that you have a guarantor, such as a parent or other relative, who shares the same address with you.
We will ask for some personal information, such as how long have you lived at your current address, do you work and if so how much is your salary.
If you’re looking to lease a car for business purposes then questions will be asked regarding the business and its directors, partners and the owners.
A number of documents will have to be provided to verify that you are who you say you are and that you live at the address written on the documents.
Copies of your driving licence and/or passport will be taken, plus a utility bill dated within the last 3 months will also be required for us to copy. They must all show your current address, however if you’ve recently moved house or you’re not listed on the electoral role further documentation might be requested.
