Some motorists have and you wouldn’t believe what they asked!
On the DVLA website you can ask questions relating to your vehicle but it seems many people are using it to try and find answers to questions that are nothing to do with motoring!
The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) have now revealed some of the most unusual questions that have been asked by motorists in the UK using voice assistants and you’ll be shocked as to how bizarre many of them are.
For instance, one unusual question that someone asked the DVLA was “Where are my socks?”, whilst another person asked “Is this rash normal?”
Some drivers seem to think that the DVLA provide weather forecasts, with one person asking “Is it going to rain in Ellesmere Port today?”, whilst another driver did ask a question sort of relating to motoring but not really one that the DVLA could answer which was “Are red cars the fastest?”
The DVLA can answer questions relating to motoring such as when your vehicle tax is due but not questions about “What time is lunch?” or “Do you know a good vegan recipe for chicken?”
“We want motorists to be able use our services quickly and easily and voice assistants are becoming more and more popular,” said DVLA chief executive Julie Lennard, adding: “While some of the questions customers have asked us fall a little outside our area of expertise, we will continue to make our services simpler, better and safer.”
The DVLA launched their digital service two years ago and since then, over 20,000 unique users have asked Goggle Assistant or Amazon Alexa to enquire about when their tax is due for renewal.
According to the DVLA, around 98% of all interactions with them are done using one of its digital services.
Here’s just a few more weird questions that motorists have asked the DVLA:
- How do you get chewing gum off a leather settee?
- How can I stop my flatmate drinking my milk?
- How do I apply for Love Island?
- What did you think of the Bumblebee movie?
