Short, Simple, Clear Car Leasing
Private Registration Plates On A Lease Car
The short answer is YES, you can use your personalised/private registration plates on a lease car, however there’s a process to follow and permission needed before doing so.
If you already own private reg number plates and are leasing a brand new car from Clear Car Leasing, you can arrange to have them put on your chosen lease car.
We recommend informing us from the start about the fact that you have private number plates and of your intention of adding them to the lease car you have chosen.
When you lease a brand new car from Clear Car Leasing, it’s your finance provider who remains the registered owner and keeper of your lease car for the entire lease period you opt for, so therefore you must contact them in order to get permission and to ask for the V5C log book related to your chosen lease car.
With help from your finance provider and the DVLA, the whole process of adding your personal reg number plates to your brand new lease car is simple and straightforward. Please be aware that you might be charged an administration fee by your finance provider and that your personalised registration plates must be removed from your lease car without causing any damage at the end of your lease term.
