It could be classed as careless or distracted driving and land you a £100 fine & 3 points

A new study has found that women drivers are risking a fine and penalty points for applying make-up whilst driving.

Surprisingly, what the study did find is that male drivers are in fact the vainest sex, checking themselves out in the mirror much more than women, however it’s female drivers that use their mirror to apply make-up whilst on the move and to make sure their hair looks good!

According to the study, the three main reasons why women use their mirror whilst driving was to apply make-up (81%), to check their teeth for bits of food or to make sure their mascara hasn’t smudged (63%) and to fix their hair (45%).

If caught it could be classed as careless or distracted driving and land you a £100 fine & 3 penalty points

Watch out ladies! Putting on your make-up whilst driving could cost you a fine and points!

A good handful of men it seems check themselves out in their car mirror around eight times in a day, whereas for women it’s at least four times – what a shocker that it’s more than double for the men!

Scarily, a whopping 70% of women owned up to applying make-up regularly whilst driving.

The study involved looking into how drivers behave behind the wheel and what bad habits they fall into.

Applying make-up whilst driving is not specifically against the law but if caught could lead to a fine of £100 and three penalty points for careless or distracted driving.

It’s not recommended that women use their car mirror to apply make-up whilst driving for safety reasons.
