What happens if I exceed my agreed mileage allowance?

Once you’ve decided which brand new car you want to lease from Clear Car Leasing, you will need to estimate your annual mileage.

To avoid any excess mileage charges at the end of your lease, it’s important that you estimate your annual mileage as accurately as possible. A lot of motorists know exactly how many miles they cover in a year but if you’re not sure, you can take a look at your most recent MoT certificates and these will show you the difference from one year to the next, so that you can accurately work out how many miles on average you cover annually.

Short, Simple, Clear Car Leasing

Work out how many miles you cover as accurately as possible to avoid excess mileage charges at the end of your lease contract.

We don’t want our customers to have to pay excess mileage fees when their lease term is over but failing to stay within your allocated mileage allowance will result in end of contract charges which is calculated as a small fixed charge for every mile over you cover – the exact cost will be explained to you in more detail within your final quote.

Vice versa, you could end up paying for more miles than you cover if you choose an annual mileage that’s way more than you actually travel in a year and this is non-refundable, that’s why we urge our customers work out exactly how many miles they’re going to need as part of their lease contract, to avoid either paying too much in the first place or having to pay excess mileage charges at the end of the lease period.
